more adventures...

So, I have been getting emails from different people saying that I need to write another blog post....

I have nothing special to write about, so here is my Mcdonalds adventure!!

I went to Passau Germany with some friends. That is where they do their shopping.

So of course we went to Mcdonalds for lunch, my friend is obsessed with the food there.

I got a chicken Mcbaguette... Really good, if your wondering. I also got a light coke. Oh how I love my light coke.

P.s. Mcdonalds here tastes better ;)

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO change of subject

Funny story i guess... I was asleep that night, when all the the house not a creature was sturring, not even a mouse.
Then I heard my name being called, at around midnight, I was too tired to care, and went back to sleep.  5 minutes later I heard my name again so I got up and walked to the window.  No one was there.  So I crawled back to bed, and immediatley my eyes were shut and I was fast asleep.  Then about 10 minutes later I awoke from a loud banging noise. It scared me to death actually.  And so I looked out the window and saw that someone was wacking it with a very long stick... Well, thats odd, i thought.  So I walked to the window and looked outside.  My host dad was on a ladder banging my window with a stick.  My host mom just calling my name.  And as its past midnight now, I was to tired to make anything wierd out of the situation.  So i just waved at them and went back to bed, thinking "These Austrian people are wierd."  5 minutes later the banging continued.  Its been about 30 minutes since the noises began, so i walked to the window, opened it, and said "Brauchst du etwas?"  Which means, do you need something?  Im not very nice in the night when I am sleepy.  Anyway, they were releived and said "We have been locked out for 30 minutes, and its freezing out here"  hahahahhaha my bad...

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------BERLIN---------------------------------------------------

So this past week i got to experience going to Berlin and Dresden!  My host mom is a principle from a school in a town nearby, and they went on their class trip! My host mom payed for me to go on it!  It was soooooo much fun, and I loved every minute! Well... mostly every minute.  We went on tours to museums and such every day, it would have been more interesting if i could actually understand what they were saying.  They were talking to complicated and fast, and German is so hard to understand haha.  Anyway... these are some pictures of my trip!!

Oh how I love 12 hour bus drives... But the drive home was only 7 hours, so i dont understanddddd. I did forget my dramamine so i was fully awake and quite nauseous..

We went on two 3 hour bus tours... I didnt really like the bus tours because it was all in German and I cant sit still for that long.
The main thing i love about Berlin is that there is art EVERYWHERE!! No matter where you look, you will see a picture on the side of a building or a sculpture on the sidewalk.  Its so inspiring :)
My friends were sleeping sooooo

This is my friend Jana. I spoke only english with her tehe, because her mom is canadian and she speaks almost perfectly. And alot. she speaks alot.  But thats why i like her. I dont talk much now, so we make a good pair.

Some castle that had to do with a war... and a queen.

Im only guessing here, but Im pretty sure this is where the olymic games were held.

I had to take this picture... Its a bear holding a hot dog! How much cuter can it get?

The Berlin Wall was breathtaking! <3

This is currywurst.  Apparently its a really typical dish for Germans.  Unfortunatley, I am not a fan of meat, or ketchup, or curry. haha It wasnt to bad though!
Unfortunately, we had to pay for our meals.... My friends wanted to go to a pizza restuarant and i got the veggie delight. (I dont really eat to much meat anymore... the currywurst was the first meat i have eaten in a while.)  But this pizza cost 10 Euros, which is ridiculous, so while all my friends finished their whole pizza, i got a box to go. Then every couple hours i would eat a slice.  Life of a poor exchange student...

So this castle is funny..... Because even though the tour was in German, my friend translated some of it and she said "Once there was a wedding here, and the celebration lasted 2 weeks.  Each night 4 people would go into the bride and grooms room.  2 people were there to watch the newly weds. And each night the guests would switch to watch them"  uhhhhhh... it was an awkward bit of information. People in the olden days were perverts.

This is Emine, she is from Turkey, and she is the nicest person i have EVER met.  <3 i will miss that girl

Other people took pictures of me... buuuut on their cameras. Hopefully i can get the rest on here later

Love you all,
Janell

The blog was broken... had to add on to an old one!!

Vienna Rotary trip

This is a store that sells american foooooods.  I could have bought the whole store, but limited myself to, Reeses, Goldfish, and 1 can of Diet Dr. Pepper :)

This is a coffee to go car.  Its sooo cute :)
This is the hotel we stayed at. It was gorgeous!
Once again, I have no clue how to rotate pictures!
I love all my rotary peeps!

We went to the opera house, for a play!  I watched Sweeney Todd!! However gruesome it was, I loved it :)
We then went to a all you can eat chinese resturant!  Since I dont get as much fruits and veggies as i did back home, I LOADED my plate with grapes and honeydew :)
We took a tour of the parliment building! :)

There are statues everywhere in Vienna!  Its really beautiful!
During a tour of the church, these people from a certain religion handed out gummie snacks to advertise for their church.  It said something along the lines of, "Jesus answered: Give them their food to eat."  I thought it was funny that they handed out gummie snacks for advertisment.
We then went to a castle garden.  Schon bron... I dont know how its spelled.  Behind me you can see the beautiful architecture on the hill.

Vienna with friends :)

I rode on the train to Vienna for the weekend. Me, Jackie, and Nolwen all stayed the night with Alyssa, so we could see as much of Vienna as we could.

Of course we couldnt have a train ride without pigging out on food! ;)
We are such tourists... but after this a guy said "Since your not from Vienna, do you want these?"  Turns out the train station there gave out free tickets because it was a grand opening.  So we got free rides for the day!!
I had to get a picture with the Croissant mustache man.

We went to a flea market, which is where we bought these awesome american sun glasses! :)
While looking around Vienna, we ran into other exchange students!! Es ist ein klein Welt.

This man said he held the record for hitchhiking.  He then told me he hitch hiked through Idaho one time, the land of the potatoes. Haha.

This was in an alley way in Vienna.  Humans have a monkey mind.  So true... even though I am not quite sure how to take that...
Im in LOVE with Vienna!  I want to live there... or at least visit as much as I can!  I got invited to go during Christmas time with my friends!  They said that during Christmas they have lights everywhere and Christmas markets :)  It will be beautiful!!

These are rental bikes.  You put in a few Euros and can rent it for an entire day.  I took a picture because it was all colorful :)
